Like a lot of others during COVID-19 quarantine in early 2020, I had some time to slow my life down. I realized the world was changing and this new work from home requirement would change the business environment drastically. I felt businesses would realize the cost savings of allowing workers to stay at home and employees could work more efficiently without enduring an agonizing commute (I live in the Atlanta area famous for horrible traffic). Then I had an epiphany that others have had as well. If I can work from home, then I can live anywhere I want. I no longer need to live within a convenient commute time to my office. Now I want to find my dream neighborhood!
I am a real estate broker, so I approached the problem as if I was searching for a house, but I wanted instead to search for areas of the country that meet my personal criteria.
So the question I asked myself was this: if I could live anywhere I wanted, where would that be and why? I want to be close to the mountains, near water, within a reasonable time frame from an international airport, a climate that’s not too cold, in a place I can afford, around people that have similar political and religious beliefs. I got online and started searching and quickly hit a dead end. There seemed to be no tools to help me find places with all of these characteristics.
This is where the idea of Dopsle began. I knew I needed to come up with a way to search for a city or neighborhood that matches me. And as luck would have it, I found the perfect guys to help me. Nick is a data scientist and was the ideal person to help me form a vision for the company. Chuck joined to take responsibility for design and development of our solutions.
It has taken more than a year, but we are now ready to launch Dopsle! Thanks to the hard work of Nick and Chuck, our web solution is really cool and better than I could have ever imagined. Mobile apps will be coming soon as well.
In a nutshell, we use data science to find your dream neighborhood. Check us out at www.dopsle.com and find the neighborhood – and then the house – that matches you!
